This year’s Grammy Awards proved that no matter how big your budget and resources, when you’re organizing a live event things can, and do, go wrong. This was evident at the annual show in Los Angeles with huge act Rihanna pulling out at the last minute, Lauryn Hill another no-show because someone forgot to confirm her booking, an on-stage accident during Gwen Stefani’s act and disastrous audio issues during Adele’s performance.

What we can learn from this is to expect the best but prepare for the worst, have a contingency plan, realize that no matter how meticulous your planning you can’t control everything (e.g. a dancer tripping on stage) and the most obvious one- if you’re going to announce an act is performing, be sure to confirm the booking first!!!
